Lesli Ashley, Legal Technician

Lesli Ashley is the founder of Empower Family Law and a dedicated advocate for families navigating legal challenges. With over 30 years of experience as a civil litigation paralegal, Lesli became a Limited License Legal Technician (LLLT) in 2020, expanding her ability to provide direct legal assistance to clients facing family law matters in Washington.

Lesli’s career reflects her passion for creating accessible, resolution-focused legal services. She believes that families deserve compassionate guidance and practical solutions—without the overwhelming costs of traditional legal representation.

Lesli earned her Limited License Legal Technician (LLLT) certification through rigorous coursework and practical training and a bar exam approved by the Washington State Supreme Court. This credential allows her to provide legal advice, prepare court documents, and assist clients in family law cases such as divorce, child support, and parenting plans.

Her commitment to continuous learning ensures she stays at the forefront of family law practices, consistently pursuing advanced training in mediation, collaborative law, and procedural updates.

Lesli is actively involved in shaping the future of legal practice in Washington. She currently serves as the Chair of the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) Practice of Law Board, where she works to enhance legal access and uphold professional standards. Through this role, Lesli helps develop innovative legal service models that expand access to justice for families and individuals across the state.

Lesli’s dedication extends beyond the office. She volunteers her time with local family support organizations, legal aid clinics, and community outreach programs, offering pro bono services and educational workshops to help individuals better understand their legal rights.
